Social
Credit System: Social credit system is a monitoring system developed by Chinese
government in order to develop or build a better nation. In this system, people
will be ranked by their social credit. In that system, everyone will be ranged
based on their behavior. If someone behave as the government wants they will
get reward. If someone behave badly like, smoking, drinking while driving, buy
too much video game they will get negative points and they will be punished. An
example of punishment is, nine million people whose score is low have been
blocked from buying tickets for domestic flight.
If
social credit system install in Dhaka, I will defiantly not welcome it. I have
many reasons for that. First, to install this system government need to do surveillance
on every individual. That is an issue of personal security. It is not okay to
live pleasantly under 24/7 surveillance. Another problem is government will
decide what is wrong and what is right. People could not express their thoughts
freely because if it against the government he/she will loss points.
In
china, because of parents low credit children could not go to their expected
school. Another thing will happen if it install in Dhaka. It will trigger white
color crime. For example, to get points people will act in front of surveillance
camera that they are doing good works. Another problem will emerge if it
install. Sometimes innocent people will lose points because all the truth cannot
caught on camera, Like fighting in public maybe a crime but fighting to save
oneself is a good think. What if the surveillance camera got the footage of the
half story? It will cost a lot to that person.
